BOTA NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Negotiations Update #2

June 6, 2019

BOTA met with the District Thursday to work toward an agreement for the 2019-2020 school year. Disussions continued reagarding Article 6 - Hours, Article 10 - Class Size, and Article 6 - Compensation. Both sides shared information requested on Tuesday in hopes of gaining better understanding of District and BOTA interests.

In addition, a Special Education IEP Best Practices document was signed. Over the course of the school year, a Special Education committee consisting of regular Ed and special Ed teachers, and Sped administrators met to discuss concerns involving length of IEPs and extra responibilities of Sped teachers outside of contracted hours. This is available for viewing on the District Website under Human Resources/Barganing Unit Contract.

Since the Governor’s final budget will not be approved until later this month, further discussion on compensation will take place in the fall.  Future dates for Negotiations are set for September 16th, 25th and 30th. At that time, we hope to progress further in settling a contract for the 2019-2020 school year.
